Honestly, I love nothing more than meeting a couple crazy in love (whatever that means to you!) and filling a day with adventures and crazy laughter. Most days, you can find me curled up with a pet -- we have 4! -- eating something sweet and working away on my laptop! That, or watching The Office for the 489216th time, baking anything and everything, or listening to a podcast about whatever I'm into that week!
IF YOU'RE A FAN OF DOGS, PODCASTS, THE OFFICE, OR ANYTHING SWEET, WE'LL GET ALONG JUST FINE
Hey, I’m Kylah! I’ve been a photographer for about 6 years now, working with families and then with couples to capture the idiosyncrasies of everyday life and love.
I live in Seattle with my partner of 9 years, James, and our 4 pets -- 2 cats and 2 dogs, all rescues. I’m a passionate animal person — animals were my first friends, way before any people came to appreciate my sense of humor. I worked at a dog rescue for 3 years, and to this day can’t resist pointing out every dog I see.
I’m originally from CA, but fell in love with the gorgeous landscapes and weather of the PNW, so we moved up here about 3 years ago, and it’s lived up to every expectation and then some.
I’m a trained baker, including an appearance on Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars”, and when I’m stressed out I tend to bake things. Food may just be my love language, or at least that’s what my vet jokes when I bring in my slightly-overweight pets.
I watch way too much of “The Office”, “Parks and Rec” and “Friends”, which is where I first fell in love with the beautiful hilarity of everyday life.
Mostly, I spend my days editing photos, hiking, and listening to podcasts and audiobooks - I go through about 6 books a month! About what, you ask? Literally anything. I am obsessed with learning, meeting new people, and having conversations about the world, people, and life.
I low key stalked him when I was 7
-- but I had cooties so he wasn't interested ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Our favorite food is ice cream, but we never share with each other
We both studied east Asian history in college & are kind of obsessed with museums & travel
We're in the process of learning to cook!
We met in second grade, where he was my first crush and he thought I had cooties. Though, obviously, I ultimately won him over in high school (thank you puberty). Since then, we've done long distance for 3+ years, and moved in together and adopted 4 pets (ok so maybe I was the one who adopted 3 out of 4). We've gone through a lot of different a phases, but always seem to come out together. If you see us together, you may find us name-calling like toddlers "stinky feet", eating too much ice cream, or lovin' up on our pets. We're a goofy pair of goobers, and we like it that way.

BOOK WITH KYLAH. Don't think, just do it!! We were so scared to get our pictures taken. Like I wanted to lose 10 lbs before I ever got in front of the camera, but we did anyway and WOW. I have never felt more beautiful or more like myself than I did with Kylah and we had just met! The whole session was focused on us, not on the photos or posing or anything like that. And then boom. Gorgeous photos that actually show off the best pieces of me and we look SO HAPPY!!!

I’ve had photoshoots done before but it seemed robotic making it uncomfortable and almost awkward being in front of the camera! When my husband and I met up with Kylah for our photoshoot, she literally felt like a friend I’d known for a long time. She smashed and crushed every “awkward” feeling I’d had in the past. I had never felt sooo comfortable and beautiful in front of a camera and I have her to thank. I went home with two things that day -- a bunch of incredible photos, as well as a new friend. If I had the chance, I’d totally work with her again!

I'm an anxious person in general, but I woke up on my wedding day thinking about everything that could go wrong. There were so many small details I was terrified I would overlook! When Kylah got there, she immediately took charge, allowing me to actually focus on getting married. By the end of the night, we had stayed on schedule and I was able to enjoy myself and even eat dinner!! We LOVED our pictures, but the best part of working with Kylah was feeling like my wedding day was actually about me and Ryan, not about putting out fires.
